Brassinolide Experiments for wheat field

Brassinolide

Brassinolide(24 Epibrassinolide CAS 78821-43-9) is a plant growth regulator, which can adjust the hormones in the plant, enhance the photosynthesis of crops, improve the quality of crops, enhance the resistance to natural disaster, and achieve the effect of increasing yield. In order to investigate the effect of 0.0016% brassinolide in regulating the growth of wheat and the best field use, we were commissioned by the plant-protection plant in Liaoning  Province, in April 2013, 0.0016% brassinolide agent was used to regulate wheat growth test, and the test results are summarized as follows.

 

1:  Materials and Methods

1.1 Test materials

Test medicament: 0.0016% brassinolide Agent (XI ' an Aslechem Biotechnology), control medicament: 0.01% brassinolide Soluble Agent.

1.2 Handling and method

The wheat variety is Liaochun 12, and the soil type at the test site is arable soil. The soil pH value is 6.8 and the organic matter content is 0.8%.
Test dose and experimental design of test drug: There are 6 treatments area in total:

the first area is by 1600times,

second area is by 800 times,

third area is 533 times,

forth area is 400 times,

fifth area is 0.01% canola lactone solution.

Sixth area is blank water control area.

Each area is set up 4 repetitions, randomly arranged.

So there are 24 plot areas.

Each plot area is 28m2,

water consumption  50kg for per 666.7m2, using a 16-type manual sprayer for workers and peasants.

Separately, the Brassinolide were applied once during three period :

Wheat tillering period (April 9),

Jointing period (April 20),

Filling (June 15).

1.3 Weather conditions during the medication

The first medication (April 9th) was sunny, the fourth day (April 13) of medication was lighter, the second medication (April 20th) was a sunny day, and there were 3 after medication. The rains were light rain, moderate rain and light rain on the 3rd, 8th and 19th days after the drug. The third medication (June 15) was sunny on the day, and there was rain on the 3rd, 10th, and 11th days after the drug.
1.4 Efficacy survey:

(1)  Investigation of heading date of wheat: Take 5 points per plot and investigate plant height, stem diameter, and internode length of 1-3 nodes.

(2)  Harvest period survey: Measure 1000-grain weight, yield per plant, accumulative yield in the plot, yield per mu, calculate increase in yield, and perform statistical analysis.

(3)  Quality measurement: 200 grams per plot, 800 grams for each treatment, quality measurement.
(4) Investigation of stress resistance.
(5) Safety survey: After application, observe the growth and development of wheat and whether or not there is any injury.

2: Result analysis

2.1 It can be seen from Table 2 that the brassinolide water solution has a significant effect on the stem diameter of wheat, and the stem diameters of 0.0016%, 210, 533 and 400 times of the brassinolide water agent are 3.33 Cm, 2.95 cm, 3.06 cm, 2.94 cm, 0.05-0.44 mm thicker than the control agent 0.01% canola lactone solution. It is 0-0.49mm thicker than the control of clear water. Brassinolide can make wheat plants stout and enhance stress resistance.

2.2 The test results showed that the brassinolide water agent had a certain effect on the wheat plant height, and the 1-3 section average length of the 0.0016% brassinolide water treatment at 1600, 800, 533 and 400 times were respectively 6.33cm, 6.46cm, 6.81cm, 7.12cm, increased by 0.43cm, 0.56cm, 0.91cm, 1.22cm respectively compared to the clear water control; 0.0016% brassinolide agents were treated at 1600-times, 800-times, 533-times and 400-times treatment.The plant heights of the plants were 72.22 cm, 72.31 cm, 73.58 cm, and 74 cm, respectively, 1.69 cm, 1.78 cm, 2.05 cm, and 3.47 cm higher than those of the clear water control. Brassinolide can increase wheat plants and promote vegetative growth.

2.3 It can be seen that the 0.0016% brassinolide water agent gradually increases in weight of thousand grains, as the concentration increases, and the 0.0016% brassinolide water agent 1600-times, 800-times, 533-times and 400-times treatment area 1000-grain weights are 36.3 Grams per thousand grains, 37.7 grams per thousand grains, 39.79 grams per thousand grains, 39.39 grams per thousand grains, increased 4.88%, 8.93%, 14.97%, 13.8%, respectively, compared to the clear water control. Tests have shown that after application of brassinolide water to wheat, wheat flour weight was increased.

2.4 Effects on the output of wheat:

In this experiment, we conducted three sprays of 0.0016% brassinolide water at the tillering, jointing and filling stages of wheat, respectively, which can significantly increase wheat yield. Among them, the concentration of 0.0016% brassin lactone aqueous solution was significantly increased in the 800 times area which is the second area.

And the yield per treatment area was

314.15 kg,

and 315.45 kg, which increased by 1.19%, 10.48%, 13.19, %, 13.66%compared respectively with the fresh water control.

3: Summary and conclusion

(1)     0.0016% brassinolide water solution has a good effect on wheat growth regulation. It can be applied once for wheat during the each tillering stage, jointing stage and filling stages. It can promote the growth height and stem diameter of wheat, and the wheat grain weight increases significantly. The increase in yield is obvious, with a growth rate of 10%-15%. The 0.0016% brassinolide water agent has obvious promotion value in wheat production.

(2)      The yield increase effect of 0.0016% brassinolide water solution on wheat growth was correspondingly increased with the appropriate increase in drug concentration. The economically effective concentration of 0.0016% brassinolide fluid was 800-533 times ( Effective ingredient 0.02-0.03mg/kg), water consumption is 50kg per 666.00m2(Mu).
(3) The use of 0.0016% brassinolide water in wheat fields showed that the growth of wheat was normal in the test treatment area and no symptoms of phytotoxicity were found. It is safe within normal use concentrations.

Due to the special climate this year in the region, a long-term low-temperature climate in the early growth period of wheat has a slight impact on wheat yield. However, in the treatment of this experiment, all  data showed high yields, reflecting the advantages of growth regulators. Spraying 0.0016% brassinolide water at the tillering, jointing and filling stages of wheat can increase wheat yield and quality and increase economic benefits, and has broad application prospects.
